The Chinese Reading Room was opened in May 2015 in the children's department of the Central Library of East Sarajevo. The equipment and teaching tools have been donated by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With the opening of this reading room, the Central Library has been given a new place for meetings, sharing knowledge and embracing new cultures.

 The reading room is supplied with new IT equipment, teaching tools and didactic materials.

The Central Library aims to make visitors familiar with the rich Chinese culture and tradition.

The Chinese Reading Room offers a wide variety of arts and cultural programs. By organizing a serious of programs in the fields of arts, music, film and literature, the Chinese Reading Room becomes the center of cultural events in East Sarajevo.
