The craft of bookbinding is one of the oldest in human history. Along with the appearance of the first written texts on the parchment and later on the paper, there was necessity to collect written texts for their preservation and easier use.
The main task of the bookbindery is to preserve book collections and rebind damaged books. Apart from this primary task, the bookbindery also performs many other tasks such as: making different types of boxes and files, duplicating and binding library materials, binding newspapers and new books published by the Central Library.
